The Dubai Public Prosecution sentenced an Asian driver to 10 years in jail plus deportation, for murdering his cousin.
The 40-year-old defendant kept on repeating the sentence, “I wasn’t in my right state of mind” during arrest.
A witness who lives with the defendant testified he woke up from his sleep to the loud screams of the victim. He then saw the defendant holding a knife and repeatedly stabbing the victim, so he immediately grabbed the defendant and pulled him away.
The witness asked another roommate to call the police and an ambulance to help the victim.
Upon investigating the suspect, he claimed the victim was repeatedly mistreating him, and on the day of the incident, the victim yelled at him to clean their room. The defendant got upset and grabbed a knife to stab his cousin to death.
