The Dubai Public Prosecution has referred a 27-year-old Arab woman to the criminal court for attempting to sell 3.67g of drugs to an undercover police officer.
A witness officer testified that the Anti-Narcotics Department had received a tip-off that the suspect possesses and sells drugs to users, so an ambush was set up to catch her red-handed.
An undercover officer contacted the suspect to buy drugs, and had specified a location and timing for their meeting.
The suspect arrived at their meeting point and got into the officer’s car to give him the drugs, but was surprised to be surrounded by a police team in no time.
Police apprehended the suspect, who in her defence claimed that she was selling drugs to pay her rent.
