6-year-old autistic child falls to death in Sharjah

A six-year-old autistic boy on Tuesday fell to his death from his 11th floor apartment in Abu Shagarah area of Sharjah.
The boy was identified as Yousuf T., a Somali-national.
The family stated that the boy somehow managed to climb a chair and get close to the window.

While looking down the boy lost his balance and fell off the building and died on spot.
Paramedics and police patrols immediately arrived to the scene and transferred the body to the forensic department for further investigation.
Sharjah police urged all families to watch their children and lock windows and balconies to prevent such tragic incidents from happening.
The number of cases of children falling from windows and balconies are on the rise since last year.
Last December, a five-year-old girl had fallen to death from ninth floor, while another two-year-old fell from eighth floor because windows were mistakenly left open.
