Different regions of the UAE witnessed fog which lasted 8 hours, resulting in low visibility, less than 50 metres on some coastal and interior areas, as a result of the country being affected by a surface air extension, accompanied by an air extension in the upper atmosphere.
Fog began to form at 1am on Thursday, and gradually cleared up after 9am.
The lowest temperature on Thursday morning was 4.5°C in Al Rokon area, while the highest temperature was 32.6°C in Mezira, in the Al Dhafra region.
The National Meteorological Centre NMC warned of the formation of fog and low horizontal visibility, calling on internal and external road users to be careful for public safety.
The NMC expected a slight rise in temperatures on Friday, reaching 35°C.
NMC expected cloudy weather on Friday night and Saturday morning to be partially cloudy, humid in some coastal areas.
Winds, according to the NMC will blow northeasterly to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active, with a speed ranging between 15 to 25 up to 35 kilometres/hour.
The centre also expected the sea to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Saturday weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy and cloudy in some coastal areas at night.
Winds on Saturday are expected to be southeasterly to northeasterly with light to moderate speeds but sometimes active, with a speed ranging between 18 to 28 up to 38 kilometres/hour.
The sea is expected to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
