NMC says today will be cloudy

The National Meteorological Centre (NMC) expects Saturday to be fairly cloudy, and cloudy in some western coastal areas at night. The NMC expects Sunday weather to be partly cloudy to sometimes cloudy, especially in the west, with the possibility of light rains in some Western and coastal areas.

Light to moderate winds will blow southeasterly to easterly, sometimes they will be active, with a speed ranging from 18 to 28 up to 40 kilometres/h.

The sea is expected to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf, but may become turbulent at night. It will be light to moderate in the Sea of Oman.

The centre predicted that Monday’s weather will be partly cloudy, in general, and become cloudy in some eastern regions.

On Monday winds are expected to be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate in speed, sometimes active during the day, with a speed ranging from 20 to 30 up to 40 kilometres/h.

The sea is expected to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

Tuesday’s weather is expected to be partially cloudy, sometimes cloudy in the northern and eastern regions.

Winds on Tuesday will be southeasterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, sometimes active during the day, stirring dust, with speeds ranging from 20 to 30 up to 38 kilometres/h.

The sea on Tuesday is expected to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

Recently, the UAE Research Programme for Rain Enhancement Science launched a roadshow to introduce local universities and embassies in the UAE to the Programme’s objectives and promote collaboration with scientific research community locally, as the Programme is gearing up to open its fourth cycle for submission beginning of 2021.

Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous, Director of NCM and President of the Regional Association II (Asia) of WMO, said, “This roadshow articulates our continued efforts to offer innovative solutions to meet global water security challenges and demonstrates our keen interest to collaborate with active partners in addressing such challenges. We are confident that through visiting local universities and embassies in the UAE and meeting with key stakeholders from scientific research community, we can leverage our collective efforts to find innovative solutions to water security and sustainability challenges.

This will support our efforts to carry out successful rain enhancement operations using innovative scientific methods.”
