The Dubai Police, represented by the General Department of Finance, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Finance House, with the aim of allowing drivers to pay their traffic fines in installments through credit cards. In accordance with the MoU, fines can be paid in installments without interest or fees on three, six, nine and 12 months, when traffic fine is Dhs500 and above.
The MoU was signed by Brig. Saif Mohammad Saif Bin Abed, Director of the General Department of Finance at Dubai Police, and Mohamed Abdullah Juma’a Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Finance House.
Among the attendees at the signing ceremony were Brig. Humaid Salem Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Finance, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Ali Al Barkat, Director Investment Department, Maj. Abdullah Yasir Amiri, Director of Revenue and Fund Department, Captain Hussein Al Abdooli, Head of Fines Collection Department, and Captain Hazim Al Shamsi-General Department of Artificial Intelligence
For his part, Brig. Saif bin Abed confirmed that the signing of the MoU came according to the directives of Maj. Gen. Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and under the supervision of Maj. Gen. Al-Sallal Saeed Bin Huwaidi Al-Falasi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs, noting it would provide a new and accessible channel for paying the traffic fines of the Dubai Police.
Brig. Gen. Saif bin Abed thanked Finance House for its keenness to cooperate with the Dubai Police, to provide services contributing to facilitating the procedures.
Meanwhile, Maj. Abdullah Amiri said, “The service is considered the first of its kind nationwide that is provided by a government department, as it was launched during GITEX-2015.”
The service provides a new and accessible channel for customers of the Dubai Police to pay their traffic fines in installments if they value Dhs500 or more, he added.
Customers can apply to the service via the Dubai Police website, or the mobile application and pay the fines in installments through their credit cards without interest or charges.
It worth mentioning that the Dubai Police signed MoUs with 9 banks to allow paying traffic fines in installment through credit cards with (0%) interest, according to the terms and conditions between the Police and those banks.
