The Sharjah Criminal Court recently adjourned the hearing session of two Asian men, who impersonated police officers, kidnapped and robbed a man.
Official records indicate the two suspects met the victim at one of Sharjah’s Industrial Areas, and claimed to be undercover police officers. They both then assaulted the victim and robbed him.
When confronted with the charges, the first suspect denied ever seeing the victim, and claimed to have a problem with the right eye that made it difficult to see clearly.
The suspect claimed that his previous confession before the Public Prosecution was based on his prior knowledge of the victim, stating that he had difficulty identifying him.
He then requested a vision test from the judiciary and asked for a defence attorney.
On the other hand, the second suspect completely denied all accusations.
The Sharjah Public Prosecution called for condemnation, while the Sharjah Criminal Court adjourned the hearing session till April 6, for the submission of a defence memo.
