Neither cold nor hot weather can kill coronavirus: WHO

The World Health Organisation (WHO) said the coronavirus can be transmitted in all areas including areas with hot or cold climate.

As the world is racing to find an effective solution to contain the novel coronavirus, researchers are hoping that the virus would not be this deadly with the arrival of summer.

WHO has been answering to rumours and myths about coronavirus pandemic which has led to over 8000 deaths.

And it is not just a handful of politicians who think summer will bring some good news, many researchers and doctors believed that summer should curtail it as hot temperatures usually kill viruses.

“There is no reason to believe that cold weather or snow can kill the novel coronavirus or any other diseases.” WHO tweeted.

Regardless of climate, adopt protective measures you live in or travel to an area reporting COVID-19.

The normal human temperature remains around 36.5°C to 37.5°C regardless of the external temperature or weather.

The most effective way to protect yourself against the new coronavirus is by frequently cleaning your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or washing them with soap and water.

More than 2,00,000 people have been infected and 167 countries around the world have been affected.
