Temporary flights to evacuate UAE residents to their home countries

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), has affirmed that the decision to suspend all inbound and outbound passenger flights and the transit of airline passengers in the UAE is still in effect as part of the precautionary measures taken to curb the spread of the COVID-19.

In a statement today, the GCAA said only passenger flights carrying UAE residents and visitors wishing to return back to their respective home countries have been temporarily allowed after ensuring all relevant precautionary measures required by the Ministry of Health and Prevention have been taken.

The UAE Health Ministry announced 210 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 1024. The new cases identified are in a stable condition and receiving treatment.

The ministry also announced that 35 cases fully recovered from the virus, after receiving treatment, bringing the total recovered cases to 96.

Dr Farida Al Hosani, UAE Health Sector’s spokesperson said we are proud to announce the launch of the biggest laboratory, built outside China, for detection and diagnosis of COVID-19 in the United Arab Emirates.

In addition, the public will be able to call a toll-free number 800-WEQAYA to answer their questions and to seek advice on coronavirus preventive measures and health guidelines.

Dr. Al Hosani announced the launch of “Weqaya” a digital platform that focuses on addressing health issues, enhancing public awareness, and offering latest information on coronavirus.
