His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stated that the UAE is forging ahead with the implementation of all planned national projects and valued added initiatives aimed at ensuring a decent life for all Emiratis and residents alike.
Sheikh Mohammed made the statement while chairing a virtual meeting of the UAE Cabinet on Sunday.
During virtual Cabinet meeting, Sheikh Mohammed announced the decision to cancel fines for residence visa holders until the end of the year.
The Cabinet approved a number of resolutions and initiatives within the framework of the national precautionary measures to deal with COVID-19, and directed that residents should be exempted from fines ensuing from the current situation, with IDs to be renewed without fines until the end of this year.
The Cabinet also directed the Ministry of Energy and Industry to coordinate with a number of local factories to support the health sector and provide it with necessary health supplies.
Regarding the legislative aspect, the Cabinet approved a number of resolutions and legislations, including a federal law related to fundraising, which aims to unify efforts between the federal and local authorities and coordinate between them regarding fundraising.
The UAE Health Ministry announced 294 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases to 1798. The new cases identified are in a stable condition, being monitored and receiving treatment.
The ministry also announced that 19 cases fully recovered from the Coronavirus, after receiving treatment, bringing the total recovered cases to 144.
The UAE Ministry has also launched the ‘Early Leave’ initiative. The initiative aims to enable residents who work in the private sector and wish to return to their home countries to do so during the period of precautionary measures undertaken in the UAE to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.
Employees will be asked to submit their annual leave dates or agree with their employers on unpaid leave.
The initiative is part of the humanitarian efforts of the UAE’s wise leadership in meeting the needs of residents seeking to return to their home countries and supporting them in these difficult times.

The Department of Dhafra Hospitals will open on Monday the screening centre for COVID-19 in Madinat Zayed, next to Madinat Zayed Council in Al Dhafra Region. The centre’s daily capacity reaches up to 300 people.
Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has started the implementation of the planning work of the screening centre for Covid-19 from vehicle. The centre is located in the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club.

More than 1.21 million people have been reported infected by the novel coronavirus across the world and 65,810 have died. Infections have been reported in more than 200 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
Chinese health authorities reported 30 new coronavirus cases Sunday, including 25 people who had arrived from overseas. The other five cases were in southern China’s Guangdong province, which borders Hong Kong.
China has clamped down on international arrivals, banning most foreigners from entering and limiting foreign airlines to one flight per week. Having largely stopped the spread of the disease, the fear is that infected people coming from abroad could spark new outbreaks.
The National Health Commission said that three more people had died, bringing the country’s death toll to 3,329 as of the end of Saturday.
