Dubai Police set up sterilisation gate

The Dubai Police have installed a sterilisation gate in Naif area to secure a safe exit and entry for the residents living there, according to Brig. Gen. Tariq Mohammad Noor Tahlak, Director of the Naif Police Station.

He said that the police station of Naif participated with the relevant authorities in the disinfection campaign that was conducted in the area amid the directives and a daily follow-up by General Abdullah Khalifa Al-Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police. The density of residents in Naif area is because it serves as one of the largest and most important markets in the emirate, so it had to be conducted widely and intensively, he added. 

He explained that the station always seeks to raise awareness of and encourage society on positive initiatives, especially in such emergency circumstances.

Tahlak continued, “The preventive measures have been exercised in the entire police station of Naif, including sterilisation of all inmates to ensure their safety, and those who are found suffering from symptoms similar to those of COVID-19, are subject to examination and referred to isolation by the competent authorities.”

He appealed to everyone in the area to maintain personal hygiene and wear gloves and masks distributed among them.

The director of Naif police station further explained that the police stations are currently assigned to conduct additional tasks, notably the social support to assure the community and strengthen their confidence in the authorities.

Last month, the Dubai Police  started using drones to ensure full compliance with decisions and disseminate the critical message of avoiding public spaces and vacating shores as a precautionary measure to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus, COVID-19.

Colonel Saeed Al Madhani, Director of Ports Police Station in Dubai, emphasised the Dubai Police’s HQ keenness to utilise the latest modern technologies in implementing government decisions in the areas of jurisdiction. “This includes the recent temporary closure of public and private beaches which was announced by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, NCEMA, to fight the spread of the virus,” he added.
