UAE leads the way with 77,550 virus tests per million people

The UAE has maintained its global leadership in maximising coronavirus tests in terms of the number of tests per 1 million people.
It has also implemented precautionary measures appreciated by the entire community.
According to statistics from the Worldometer website, the UAE has performed over 77,550 tests per million people and has expanded its coronavirus drive-through testing campaign, as part of a strategy to provide widespread testing of citizens and residents.
The country has advanced drive-through testing centres in all emirates, in addition to clinics in Mussafah for workers.
Several citizens and residents who were tested for coronavirus said that the procedures put in place by the UAE have largely contributed to containing the virus, stressing that the expansion of these tests to include all citizens and residents in the country have ensured the safety of all members of the community and protected them.
Ali Khalifa Mohammed, Abdullah Yousef and Ramesh Jay said that the UAE is always keen to address all challenges facing the implementation of precautionary measures, adding that increasing the scope of testing for citizens and residents is one of the key precautionary measures that will help contain the virus and treat infected cases.
They also praised the organisation of all drive-through testing centres and the efforts of health sector employees and volunteers, noting that the tests take less than five minutes.
They also pointed out that the UAE is an international model to follow for addressing crises with full transparency, due to the vision of its leadership and the cooperation between all national institutions.
Meanwhile, the Nevada COVID-19 task force announced a partnership with the UAE with the goal of rolling out high-volume testing throughout the state.
A spokesperson for the Response, Relief and Recovery Task Force said that vital testing materials have been acquired thanks to a long-term partnership with the UAE and G42, a technology company based in Abu Dhabi.
G42 has created technology that will be used for a long-term “innovative genomic study” for COVID-19 testing and research, according to the Task Force.
“The resources from G42 will substantially increase our ability to conduct COVID-19 testing and research to help us mitigate the effects of this virus on our citizens and visitors during the current crisis,” Task Force chair Jim Murren said in a statement carried by KSNV NBC Las Vegas.
“It will also enable us to fortify our ability to provide a safe and sustainable economic recovery for all of Nevada in the long run.”
The Task Force says the partnership with G42 will help University Medical Center in Las Vegas develop Nevada’s first high-volume testing laboratory.
That lab would be able to support the processing of patient samples taken from hospitals, doctor’s offices, curbside locations and other providers.
Similar high-volume testing is also being developed in Northern Nevada with Renown and the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory.
“The UAE will continue to provide its support to the international community and promote stronger relationships between countries with the goal of increasing the effectiveness of the global response to the current crisis,” His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said in statements recently.
The cabinet on Saturday passed a resolution on the publishing and sharing of health information related to communicable diseases.
The resolution aims to ensure community health, safety and wellbeing while countering any form of misinformation that could lead to a negative impact and mislead public opinion.
The resolution is part of the government’s efforts to enhance health awareness among the public and to provide information and guidelines on correct procedure through accredited spokespersons and experts, as well as official government sources, away from rumour mongers and those who share fake news.
