Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of Organisations Protective Security and Emergency in the Dubai Police, revealed a fine of Dhs10,000 will be imposed on owners of Ramadan tents or any home gatherings in public places or private farms and manors, stressing the importance of spacing, and taking particular care to face the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, and reduce its spread.
Al Ghaithi said the government has made it easier for citizens and residents, during the Holy Month of Ramadan, by amending the dates of the national sterilisation programme, to become from 10pm to 6am. He added this does not mean non-compliance with precautionary measures, spacing, stressing that the number of those present in the place should not exceed five persons. He stressed that setting up tents and Ramadan assemblies, whether inside homes or in public places is banned.
Al Ghaithi called on all members of society of all nationalities, to fully comply with the instructions in the framework of measures, to avoid legal accountability in case of violation.
He called for the necessity of physical spacing with a separation of no less than two metres, wearing masks and adhering to the precautionary measures accompanying the national sterilization programme. He affirmed his full confidence in the public solidarity and their response to health and guidance instructions.
