The true spirit of the holy month of Ramadan is giving and sharing as charity organisations in the country are working hard to achieve the goal to reach maximum number of deserving people with helping hands.
In this regard, the Dar Al Ber Society provided more than 660,000 meals and food parcels to workers and the needy, during the first ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan. The meals were distributed at 110 locations in Dubai, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain, in cooperation and coordination with 13 popular restaurants and kitchens.
Muhammad Suhail Al Muhairi, member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Emergency, Disaster and Crisis Committee in Dar Al Ber, stressed that the beneficiaries of the project of distributing breakfast meals among fasting people are the segment of workers residing in their housing units in the industrial areas and others in the four emirates, along with the needy and individuals by distribution points spread across the geographical reach of those Emirates. As for food parcels, families from the limited income categories have benefited from them in the country.
Dar Al Ber society, by Muhammad Al-Muhairi, thanked all those who supported the project and contributed to providing meals to the fasting, workers and needy, in light of the global current sensitive circumstances, and the advent of the holy month. Al-Muhairi stressed that the door was open to philanthropists, people of goodness, and public and private sector organisations to contribute to the “Breakfasting for the Fasting and Food Parcels” project, in light of the charitable initiative and the humanitarian project continuing throughout the month of Ramadan, and its urgent need for support.
Recently, the branch of Dar Al Ber Society in Ras Al Khaimah announced providing happiness for 435 families in the first quarter of 2020.
Ali Abdullah Al-Shehhi, director of the Society’s branch in the emirate, said that the revenues of donations and charitable endowment projects during the first three months of this year amounted to about Dhs3,305,031. He explained that the Society in Ras Al Khaimah provided aid in several gates for good and charity, during the first quarter, which provided happiness for the chaste families and those with limited income, including paying the rent of 109 houses to needy families, during the first quarter.
