A number of motorists received warning SMSes on their mobile phones from Abu Dhabi Police after they had been monitored by radars driving during times of the national sterilisation programme in Abu Dhabi.
The police stressed the need to adhere to safety and prevention measures and not to repeat such violations, confirming that the aim is to protect people and enhance their safety.
According to the decision of the Attorney General, there is a fine of Dhs2,000 for leaving home without a necessity or for reasons other than work or to purchase basic needs during the national sterilization programme time.
The Abu Dhabi Police on Friday activated radar systems and smart systems, in addition to recording violations in absentia through the patrols in all areas of the emirate.
The move come to detect those who fail to committed to staying at home during the hours of the national sterilisation programme from 10:pm until 6:00am.
The categories who are excluded from the decision to go out in the timing of the national sterilisation programme and notified about violation, they can object to a violation of the precautionary measures of COVID-19 by visiting the Public Prosecution link with attaching evidence to cancel the violation.
