Brigadier Saif Muheir Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, revealed that the police have arrested a driver and seized his vehicle that was involved in reckless driving, performing stunts in Dubai.
He said that the administration immediately identified the person, and after monitoring and follow-up operations, the police were able to arrest him on charges of endangering and disturbing the lives of others.
The necessary legal measures were taken.
The vehicle was seized and the driver was fined Dhs2,000 and 12 black points according to the specific penalties for the violations committed.
Al Mazroui warned youth against committing such reckless behaviours.
The police have urged the necessity to adhere to traffic ethics, and to maintain public morals, while driving a vehicle.
Last week, the Abu Dhabi Police arrested a young man, 28, for driving his car recklessly in violation of traffic laws. The driver decided to show off how fast he could drive most hazardously on the public road in Musaffah.
The vehicle was seized and the driver was referred to the public prosecution for legal action.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police also arrested two youths in their 20s and 30s and seized their vehicles, for performing dangerous stunts in the streets in the evening.
The police slapped fines on the drivers for endangering lives of citizens and residents.
A joint work team from Traffic Control Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police carried out the arrest.
