His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has responded to a British boy who wrote a letter to him.
The young boy Archie wrote about his mother. The mother is stranded in the United Kingdom due the coronavirus pandemic.
The Grade-1 student at RAK Academy Al Hamra, Archie Appleyard earlier wrote an emotive letter to Sheikh Saud, appealing for his mother’s return. "It has been 52 sleeps now that I have been apart from my mother," the boy said in his letter.
"I feel so sad because we have never been apart for this long and all I dream and wish for is my mummy's return," he wrote.

Sheikh Saud wrote, “I was pleased today to respond to a letter from Archie, the British boy whose mother was prevented from returning from the United Kingdom to Ras Al Khaimah due to the current circumstances. We worked to satisfy his desire to see his mother at the earliest opportunity, highlighting on Zayed Humanitarian Day that the UAE will always be a beacon of humanity in this world.”

Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi also wrote, “On Zayed Humanitarian Day, we remember the values of charity, giving and humanitarianism that the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed, instilled in all of us. “The UAE embodies these values and during this challenging time, has once again proven its commitment to solidarity, brotherhood, benevolence and tolerance. Our country will always thrive no matter what the circumstances and challenges and the sons of Zayed will prove once again that they achieve what they say.”
