In a yet another humanitarian gesture, UAE waives all visa fines

The UAE in its latest effort to ease the trouble of residents during this time of pandemic has announced that no fine will be charged from anyone whose documents expired in early March.
The government has offered full waiver of residency and visit visa fines for all.
In a tweet Brigadier General Al Kaabi has said that as per the directives of UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, holders of both residency and visit visas that expired in early March are exempted from fines. They have a three-month grace period to depart UAE starting May 18.
We urge the public to use the smart platform of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship to get the services they need, Al Kaabi tweeted further.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, last month has announced a decision to cancel all residency visa fines until the end of the year, similar to the announcement made on Wednesday.
Government officials have confirmed that residency visas of expatriates, whether they are inside or outside of the country, will remain valid until the end of the year.
