Wear mask or face jail, Kuwait warns citizens

Kuwait has said on Sunday it would start jailing people or fining them thousands of dollars for failing to wear a face mask to combat the novel coronavirus.
Kuwait’s health ministry said anyone caught could face up to three months in prison. In Kuwait the maximum fine stood at 5,000 dinars ($16,200).
Kuwait reported 1,048 new coronavirus, infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of infections to 14,850, while 5 deaths were reported, bringing the total fatalities’ toll up to 112.
The Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, quoted the Health Ministry spokesperson Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad as saying that 168 patients were in intensive care.
Earlier, the Ministry announced the recovery of 250 patients, bringing the total to 4,093 recoveries.
Saudi Arabia on Sunday reported 2,736 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 54,752.
Assistant Minister of Health and Official Spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr Mohammed Al Abdulaali was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency, SPA, saying that of the total 28,718 cases are active cases receiving medical care, and their health condition is mostly stable; with the exception of 202 cases receiving intensive care.
