The security teams at the Ajman Police have arrested an Asian man, identified as Kh.M, 19, who stole three vehicles that were left running and unattended in front of commercial stores in the emirate.
This was revealed by Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department.
He said that owners of the stolen vehicles reported the thefts that took place in a public street in Al-Nuaimiya area.
The vehicles had been left running in front of shops before they were stolen, owners of the vehicles told the police.
The CID instantly entrusted a security team to initiate investigation into the theft to identify the burglar. Through the investigations and search, the suspect had been identified and located in the emirate of Sharjah.
Following the necessary legal procedures, the CID teams managed to arrest the accused.
The suspect confessed to stealing the vehicles, which were left running and unattended by their owners in front of shops to do shopping. Accordingly, he has been referred to the juridical authorities for further legal actions.
They vehicles had been recovered with good condition, confirmed Lt. Col. Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi.
He praised the efforts of the CID teams and their experience that led to arresting the accused and recovering the vehicles within four days from receiving the reports.
Lt. Col. Al Nuaimi also called on the public not to leave their cars running and unattended for any reason, to avoid being subjected to legal accountability, stressing that their act was the cause of their theft.
