The Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) clarified the two scenarios for home quarantine. There are 2 cases that require home quarantine:
(1) Those who tested positive for COVID-19 and
(2) Those who were in close contact with someone who tested positive. Those with both cases must stay home and self-isolate until their next test.
Breaking home quarantine will result in a Dhs50,000 fine.
For quarantine compliance, those who test positive must wear an electronic wristband from testing centres and download Alhosn.
The wristband will be removed after 2 negative test results.
Non-compliance will result in a Dhs10,000 fine and the violator will bear costs if the wristband is lost/damaged.
The Ministry has dismissed as "untrue" a video post circulated on the social media, where a person alleged the unavailability of medical masks in one of its hospitals.
The Ministry affirmed that all hospitals and medical centres are well-equipped with all necessary supplies, including medical masks.
The Ministry added that it coordinates with all hospitals on a daily basis to ensure their readiness in terms of equipment, medical supplies and medical staff.
Mohap urged members of the public not to circulate false and misleading information otherwise they could be held liable. The Ministry has already initiated legal action against the person who made the claim and the one who filmed the video.
