Inform patients of the test result, DHA tells facilities

Private health facilities affirmed that the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has issued a circular to all licensed health facilities, emphasising the importance of informing patients of the results of the coronavirus test.
DHA stressed that in case of positive results, the patient should be informed via phone calls or text messages, if the patient is fully qualified or his legal representative (guardian / trustee / curator), according to an approved form including a detailed explanation of the guidelines needed for self-isolation and infection control, besides an electronic link and informing the patient that he would be contacted by the public health team for evaluation and follow-up.
The DHA also affirmed that health facilities must provide a daily record of the patients contacted. This circular is to be put into effect as of Wednesday, May 27, and the concerned health facilities must comply with what was stated in it.
Dubai Health Authority appreciated the efforts of its strategic partners in the health sector to address the corona pandemic and ensure public health.
Recently, in line with its efforts to conduct proactive COVID-19 medical examinations, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launched a highly-sophisticated mobile unit to conduct testing in densely populated areas, especially labour camps. The testing bus will also be available to certain segments of society such as the elderly and people unable to visit health centres due to underlying medical conditions.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with the National Fire Fighting Manufacturing Company (NAFFCO) and SHIELDme. The mobile testing unit was designed and manufactured by NAFFCO in the UAE and provided to DHA for the purpose of community COVID-19 screening. It is equipped with internal and external isolation and sterilisation systems developed using SHIELDme technology.
The advanced bus meets all regulations for protection of staff, medical professionals and people being screened. The screening capacity of the bus is 1,000 individuals per day.
