The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman-DED) has announced the conditions for the expansion of reopening economic activities in the Emirate and permitting the resumption of business from today, subject to having the stipulations met by an entity, including cinemas, gyms, children saloons, and a number of services, such as carwash and car valet services, in 50% of the maximum capacity of such activities, provided that gatherings shall not be permitted.
The Department permitted the retail and wholesale trading sector to receive 70% of the maximum capacity of visitors and to also increase the working capacity of employees to around 70%.
The second issue of the stipulations guide, available on the Department’s website, permitted the elderly (60 years and older) and children (12 years and younger) to go to health centres and clinics within shopping centres, subject to booking a prior appointment and to being accompanied by an adult, while informing the security.
It is permitted to provide car valet services in all the permitted locations and centres at all permitted hotels and malls, along with ensuring adherence to all the precautionary and preventive procedures by the employees.
Furthermore, those who are working for the said entities of those who have just returned back to the UAE shall observe house quarantine, provided that they shall be medically tested prior to resuming their duties.
The Department said that all the previously announced protocols shall be observed, such as the timing of the national sterilisation programme, ensuring the mandatory temperature test of all employees or visitors prior to entering an entity, the provision of hand sterilisers in common areas, and two-meter social distancing.
Earlier, the Department of Economic Development in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) announced all men’s hairdressing salons and women’s beauty centres can reopen and operate normally in Ras Al Khaimah from Thursday.
Authorities said, before opening, rigorous safety standards must be implemented and all establishments must adhere to a series of strict safety protocols to curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and safeguard public health.
This move comes as part of the Department’s commitment to find a balance between allowing economic activity to continue in the Emirate, while also protecting all members of the community.
Some of the conditions include mandatory COVID-19 testing for employees; staff must always wear masks and gloves; and waiting areas must be blocked off as customers will be welcomed only by appointment.
