Signs, posters relating to the prevention guideline for the coronavirus have been placed in almost all mosques in the emirate under the supervision of the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department.
This is part of the measures that have been enforced ahead of reopening mosques for worshippers; however, the date for the reopening has not been specified yet.
Among those guidelines, are that each worshipper will have to bring a prayer carpet for personal use with a physical distancing of not less than 1.5 metres from all directions. In addition, face masks and preventives gloves must be worn inside the mosque.

SIAD has also organised workshops to educate Imams on the measures to combat COVID-19. It will continue to educate the people on the precautions with guidance from the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
On the other hand, the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department (SIAD) is continuing its efforts in the construction and rebuilding of mosques, exercising all prevention measures against COVID-19. The Department is currently overseeing the completion of building a number of mosques in the suburbs and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah.
The department's specialised maintenance teams are also implementing the annual plan for the maintenance of a number of mosques in the emirate.

SIAD is also continuing its efforts for intensifying sterilisation at all mosques as part of the precautionary measures being implemented across the country to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Thabit Al Turaifi, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, inspected the municipality’s latest preparations for the return of employees to the workplace under all precautionary measures.
This municipality will ensure a safe work environment that meets all health standards and preventive guidelines.
Al Turaifi was briefed on the precautionary measures taken before the return of the employees, including a sterilisation corridor that was creatively designed to sterilise employees and customers.

Special cameras were installed to take the temperatures of customers and employees before entering the building.
Al Turaifi directed to install screens to publish awareness messages, especially in the customer waiting areas, and to place barriers separating counter employees from customers, along with several other important measures.
Al Turaifi chaired a virtual meeting of the municipality's top management to discuss the latest achievements made by the municipality, especially during the implementation of the remote work system.
Al Turaifi praised the efforts made by all sectors and departments to continue success and excellence, and provide high-quality services. He also praised the efforts made by the sterilisation teams, reflecting the community role of the municipality to serve the country and society.
The meeting explored plans to allow employees return to the workplace under preventive measures to ensure a safe work environment.
The Municipality will ensure that employees adhere to all health requirements. Customers will be received in as minimum numbers as possible. They will be directed to complete their transactions through the available electronic channels.
