Twelve checkpoints have been activated at the entrances and exits of Abu Dhabi cities to follow up on the implementation of the decision issued by the Committee for Emergency Management, Crises and Disasters. This is in line with the national survey project to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Abu Dhabi Police call on the public to adhere to the instructions issued regarding the prohibition of movement to and from Abu Dhabi and between its cities. This is advised to avoid traffic congestion at the checkpoints on the roads of the emirate. Residents that need to be out should take permits from the Abu Dhabi Police website before commuting.

The checkpoints on the main roads will operate throughout the day for 24 hours. Residents of each city are allowed to move within their city according to the national sterilisation programme. However, the ban includes moving between the cities of the emirate (Abu Dhabi - Al Ain - Al Dhafra) and entry and exit from and to the emirate. Employees in the vital sectors and chronic disease patients are excluded.
The Abu Dhabi Police call on everyone to cooperate to make the movement ban a success, explaining that the decision to prohibit movement between cities and from outside Abu Dhabi is in line with the current series of measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.
