The Consul General of Belarus Igor Bondarev, Isobel Abulhoul, CEO of the Emirates Literature Foundation, and a number of Dubai officers participated in the ‘Ride with Dubai Bikers Unit’ initiative to spread awareness on preventive measures against COVID-19.
The initiative aims to educate the public about the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the state to combat the new Corona virus "Covid 19."
Colonel Saeed Al Saadi, of the Criminal Investigation Department confirmed that this initiative came at the direction of Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, to involve community members in awareness of the coronavirus, under the slogan "#We_Are_All_Responsible."
He pointed out that the role of volunteers come after educating them through educational lectures that enable them to provide information about procedures and measures for combating the spread of the virus.
Colonel Saeed Al Saadi added that since the launch of the initiative, nearly 6000 volunteers have participated in various segments of society, including media and influential people on social media, the general public, and finally consuls and liaison officers, stressing that the volunteers have contributed with Dubai Police to spread awareness in several areas, most notably JBR, Citywalk, La Mer, Arabian Ranches, and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, pointing to the expansion of security bikes.
He explained that the liaison officers are partners in international cooperation, and they were happy with the experience, adding that the initiative contributed to informing the people of the police presence everywhere and at all times to implement laws and adhere to precautionary measures.
