After the activation of the decision to prohibit movement to and from Abu Dhabi and between its cities (Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra) for the eighth day in a row, and for 24 hours, Abu Dhabi Police, through its teams deployed in 12 sorting points at the entry and exit points of the capital, continued to guide drivers at those points on the mechanism for the work of transit permits and the traffic rules.
The Abu Dhabi Police also use the smart patrol to facilitate the detection of violating vehicle procedures, vehicles having permits for transit, and vehicle density at sorting points.
Major Hamad Mahmoud Al Hamli from the Al Dhafra Region Traffic Department, who works at Al Marzoum Bridge Sorting Zone, said the police teams assist drivers in obtaining transit permits and direct them to enter the website, and upon approval they are allowed to enter or exit but if refused, they are directed to the place of arrival.
Hamli pointed out that some people are exempted from obtaining permits, including the staff of the vital sectors, patients with chronic diseases and vehicles delivering essential goods.
Hamli indicated residents are allowed to move inside cities of the emirate depending on the timings of the national sterilisation programme.
He said: “The 12 sorting points are located in the following places, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Street, Ghantoot, Seeh Shuaib, Umm Al Awash Roundabout, Al Marzoom Bridge, Sweihan, Saih Sidira Bridge, Hameem, Al Shwaib, Al Faqah, Al Khazna and Al Ajban.”
Separately, Tawam Hospital in Al Ain has announced the launch of two mobile COVID-19 screening clinics for individuals that show symptoms of the disease. The hospital — an Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, Seha, facility — noted that the clinics are stationed in two different locations. The first clinic is based opposite Al Jimi Malla, while the second is found in Al Ain’s Hili Industrial Zone.
Tawam Hospital’s Executive Director of Operations, Yousef Al Ketbi, said that the setting up of the two clinics is part of the precautionary measures set out by Seha to mitigate the further spread of the coronavirus.
