Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, recently welcomed Sheikh Abdulrahman Bin Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation office in Sharjah, on a tour of Sharjah Airport.
During the tour of the various airport facilities, Al Shamsi was briefed on the precautionary measures that the airport had adopted for repatriation flights to ensure the highest levels of safety and protection.
Ali Al Midfa thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for their great efforts in organising and facilitating repatriation flights.
Effective measures have been taken, in compliance with relevant authorities, to ensure a hassle-free experience to all passengers while maintaining the highest level of safety.
Sterilization measures were implemented to all airport facilities including aircrafts, entrance and departure areas, passenger boarding bridges and passenger transportation buses and self-sterilization machines at entrances to the airport.
Passengers are subject to mandatory thermal screening to ensure optimal safety standards have been maintained. Social distancing signs and markers are also displayed to reinforce the need to maintain physical distance.
Sharjah Airport is committed to protecting the health and well-being of all employees and has taken preventative measures such as installing protective shields at check-in counters, immigration and passport control counters.
The airport's comprehensive measures ensure regular sterilization and disinfection procedures throughout the Airport facilities, additionally, all staff are required to wear face masks and disposable gloves.
