The Islamic Information Centre at the Dar Al Ber Society through over 19 activities has benefited around 97,219 people from different nationalities in the Holy month of Ramadan.
These people who recently embraced Islam attended several events organised by the society through its chapters in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.
Omran Muhammad Abdullah, Director of the Islamic Information Centre in Dubai and a member of the Society’s board of directors, stated that the list of the centre’s activities in Ramadan came varied, comprehensive and integrated this year, in order to achieve the maximum possible benefit for the “new converts”, and to meet their religious, cognitive, cultural, awareness-raising, moral, material and social needs, and harmonise with their interests and aspirations in various aspects.
Omran Muhammad pointed out that Ramadan activities and events were held in several languages, to serve that segment of different cultures, and included the first Ramadan conference, and daily foundational lessons in true religion, with a distance education system, in 6 languages, namely English, French, Urdu, Russian, Filipino and Chinese.
In addition, there were competitions, weekly prizes, specialised courses in the jurisprudence of fasting, courses devoted to housewives about the mechanisms of dealing with “maids” and do charity to them, how to guide those who wish to be Muslim, as well as daily direct broadcast in the social networking platforms (Facebook and Instagram ), and cultural competitions for non-Muslims in three languages (English, French, and Chinese).
According to Omran Muhammad, the list of Ramadan activities also included the “you will be rewarded the same” initiative, a series of Ramadan lectures for some schools and government agencies, distributing food supplies to “new converts”, providing them with cash money, and providing breakfast meals at their residence.
