A team of 21 Asterians reached Dubai early on Sunday morning at 1.30am from India. These were staff working in Dubai in Aster and Medcare facilities here who were stuck in India because of the lockdown.
Apart from staff from Aster verticals there were also staff from Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS).
Alisha Moopen, Deputy Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare, said, “The returning Aster and Medcare medical staff from India would strengthen our efforts to provide quality care to COVID-19 patients in the UAE. They would join the batch of 88 critical care medics who arrived in Dubai earlier and are actively involved in the UAE government’s efforts to provide the best care to COVID-19 patients. We are thankful to the UAE government, Dubai Health Authority, UAE Embassy in India and Indian Consulate in Dubai for undertaking all the measures to expedite their safe return.”
Earlier, the UAE Embassy in New Delhi tweeted, “As an extension of efforts of @UAEembassyIndia & UAE's keenness to fight COVID19 the embassy obtained necessary approvals from Indian authorities for travel of 3 groups of medical staff of @DHA_Dubai @Dubai_Ambulance @ASTERHealthcare of 57 healthcare workers from Cochin to Dubai.”
