Dense fog covered various areas of the UAE on Sunday morning, reducing visibility to less than 200 metres.
Motorists and morning commuters were taken by surprise by the unexpected weather.
The fog, which lasted for several hours, led horizontal visibility to decline to the lowest levels and sometimes zero.
The UAE authorities have urged motorists to reduce speed when driving on highways, and if possible pull over if the fog affects the visibility.
A customer service staff with Emirates Airlines said that all fights for Sunday morning were on time. There were no delays, or cancellations.
The fog was the impact of an extension of a surface trough pressure, accompanied with an extension of upper air trough.
Gulf Today reporter went out in the morning to catch a glimpse of the traffic and residents.
The traffic was moving at a slow pace due the reduced visibility.
There were no reports of accident.
Residents were seen wearing facemasks, and were indulging in healthy activities.
