The Ministry of Health and Prevention acknowledges the generosity of citizens and residents who have been giving their blood to save others.
The Dubai Blood Donation Centre had approximately 22,000 blood donors of 150 nationalities, amounting to about 20,000 units collected from mid-February until now, in addition to 1,737 platelets and blood plasma donations.
“Your continued response to help patients in need reflects the meaning of humanity. Thank you for donating your blood constantly,” the Ministry tweeted.

The Ministry assured that the ongoing blood donation campaigns are in accordance with the best safety and accuracy standards approved by international bodies to support the strategic stockpile of blood banks in the country.
MoHAP added that all the preventive and precautionary measures have been adopted to fight the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the safety of blood donations and its derivatives, raise the scientific competence and practical experience of medical and technical cadres, and enhance the quality of public safety programmes in the donation process.
