The Fujairah Court of Appeal on Thursday upheld the Court of First Instance’s 2-year-jail term that was issued against a GCC national, along with a fine of Dhs10,000 over the charges of possessing and abusing drugs.
The details of the case date back to the time, when the convict was seized in possession of psychotropic substances and heroin. He also confessed to abusing heroin when interrogated.
Accordingly, he was referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal measures.
The convict had previously refused to go to an addiction rehabilitation centre, and even his family failed to persuade him, but they failed.
