Asian jailed for mugging woman, stealing her purse in Dubai

The Dubai Public Prosecution referred a 20-year-old Asian man to the criminal court after he mugged a helpless woman and stole her purse, which contained Dhs1,200 in cash and her passport along with some other things.
The victim said that she was walking near her residence in Dubai International City, when the defendant suddenly appeared in front of her.
The defendant then began trying to lure her into going with him.
The victim nervously told him she was a married woman and asked to be left alone.
Then the defendant swiftly pulled the purse from her hand and fled.
The victim filed a police report about the incident. Two days later, she received a call from the police, stating that they have found the defendant.The mugger, who was identified by the victim during the line-up, is to be detained and referred to the criminal court to receive his punishment.
