Driver stuck in car wreckage rescued

A car collision took place on Monday on Khor Fakkan-Al Lu’lu’ieh road in which a driver got stuck in the car wreckage.
The incident came to light when the operations room at the Eastern Region’s Civil Defence Directorate received a report on the matter.
The driver was rescued by a fire and rescue squad headed by Captain Ali Al Dhanhani, Head of Stations Section, and Lieutenant Juma Hamdan from Khor Fakkan Police Station.
They rushed to the scene of the collision and helped the driver without causing him any further harm.
The driver was then given first aid treatment before he was taken to the Khor Fakkan Hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence, has called on all road users to avoid gathering in areas of accidents in order to not hamper the arrival of rescue teams.
He has also called on drivers to adhere to the speed limits on roads and abide by traffic laws.
In April, the Abu Dhabi Police arrested a 28-year-old young man for driving his car recklessly in violation of traffic laws. The driver decided to show off how fast he could drive most hazardously on the public road in Musaffah.
The vehicle was seized and the driver was referred to the public prosecution for legal action.
In May, three Asians, a man and two women, were killed after the car they were in caught fire as a result of collision involving four cars on Sheikh Zayed Road. According to Brigadier Dr Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali Police Station, the accident took place in the area past Dubai Parks and Resorts in the Abu Dhabi-Dubai direction of Sheikh Zayed Road.
Dubai Police’s Command and Control Centre received a report on the collision at 4:40pm, he said, adding that patrols from the Jebel Ali Police Station rushed to the scene of the collision to secure the accident area and traffic flow and transport the deceased to the hospital.
“One of the cars had been burnt, which caused the death of all the passengers in it,” he said.
Al Suwaidi called on all drivers to exercise extreme caution while driving, abide by the speed limits posted on streets, avoid tailgating and concentrate on driving only.
