VIDEO: First graders interview RAK Ruler, ask ‘Do you ever get bored of being the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah?’

First graders of Ras Al Khaimah Academy got the opportunity to interview His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. And they made every seconds of the virtual interview a memorable moment.
Ras Al Khaimah Media Office shared the interview of Sheikh Saud on its Instagram and wrote, “Each year I look forward to meeting the first graders at Ras Al Khaimah Academy as their academic year draws to a close, and today I had the pleasure of talking to them remotely.
“During our conversation, I sensed their spontaneity, their great passion for learning and their infinite curiosity.
“We must all dedicate ourselves to providing our children with the love and support they need to prosper. I have confidence in our youth to continue the legacy of our Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed, may God bless him, in building a country that plays its part in creating a better future for humanity.”
One of the students asked the RAK Ruler, “What was your favourite subject at school?
Sheikh Saud responded with pleasure, “Physics, Physics was my favourite…”
Another one asked, “Do you ever get bored of being the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah?
The Ruler said, “I never get bored.”
In May, Sheikh Saud directed concerned authorities to bring home to the UAE the stranded mother of a seven-year-old boy who wrote him a letter, telling them that the country will always be a beacon of humanity in this world.
Jessica Fitzjohn travelled to the UK more than 50 days ago to attend the funeral of her father but was unable to return because of travel restrictions related to the coronavirus outbreak. Her son, Archie Appleyard, and husband, Richard, live in Ras Al Khaimah and the situation prompted Archie, a seven-year-old pupil at RAK Academy, to send a hand-written letter and drawing to Sheikh Saud explaining their predicament and asking for his help.
Sheikh Saud and in cooperation with Government entities, Jessica arrived in the UAE in the early hours of Wednesday. All medical protocols were followed and she will enter a 14-day quarantine.
