The COVID-19 has spread in Pakistan at one of the fastest rates in the world since February when Prime Minister Imran Khan eased lockdown despite warnings from experts. The deaths have jumped since May.
According Dawn, the largest circulated newspaper in Pakistan, the number of recoveries in Pakistan crossed the 100,000 mark as 2,299 more patients were cured from the virus, the government's Covid-19 portal said.

The total number of recovered cases in the country is now 100,802, while 2,741 patients are in a critical state.
News agency Associated Press reports that the number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus in Pakistan has surpassed 100,000, about 50% of total infections.
The government data show 2,741 people are still listed in critical condition.
In Wednesday’s statement, the national command and control centre said 100,802 patients have recovered out of 213,469 confirmed cases. Pakistan recorded 41,33 more cases and 91 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Pakistan has sealed off hot spots across the country since last month to contain the spread of virus, saying the country’s economy cannot afford a stricter lockdown.
The government data show 2,741 people are still listed in critical condition.
Meanwhile, cases of an ailment like Kawasaki Disease (KD), which is believed to be a post-infection complication among the children infected with Covid-19 have started surfacing in various parts of the country, causing an alarm among experts.
The Institute of Child Health/Children Hospital Lahore has received three such cases while some others have been reported in Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. These cases have alarmed “unprepared” paediatric experts all over the country.
Clinical signs of the KD include fever, rashes, swelling of the hands and feet, irritation and redness of the white portion of the eyes, swollen lymph glands in the neck, and irritation and inflammation of the mouth, lips, and throat.
