UAE releases names and photos of COVID-19 precautionary measures violators

The UAE Public Prosecution has published the names and photographs of people who did not take the precautionary measures seriously, which are in place to stem the spread of coronavirus in the country.
The Public Prosecution on its Twitter account said, “Names & photos of the violators of the updated list of fines and penalties which were revealed during the UAE Government COVID-19 Media Briefing held on Wednesday 1/7/2020 #PublicProsecution…”
Three people were fined Dhs3,000 for not wearing masks in private vehicles, therefore violating the decision issued by each emirate to limit the spread of coronavirus.
Three others were fined Dhs3,000 for leaving home or travelling during curfew hours.
Five people were fined, four with Dhs5,000 and one with Dhs10,000, for violating the ban and restrictions imposed on gatherings and private parties.
Two people were fined Dhs2,000 for violating the decisions issued by each emirate to limit the spread of communicable diseases.
Salem Al Zaabi, Acting Director of the Federal Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Prosecution said, “We call upon the public to adhere to the procedures, and we confirm that the concerned authorities are keen to achieve a balanced and gradual return to activity."
“Despite frequent government reminders, violations still occur. This raises concerns around negative consequences for the health of the UAE which could lead to a tightening of restrictions.”
Salem Al Zaabi said, “It is important that UAE citizens and residents adhere to the precautionary measures and guidelines in place to protect their health and the public health. The public commitment to measures is crucial as business activities are gradually going back to normal.”
On Wednesday, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) announced that it conducted 62,028 new COVID-19 tests, which revealed 402 new cases of infection.
This brings the total number of coronavirus cases recorded in the country to 49,069.
The Ministry also announced the recovery of 594 patients after treatment, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 38,160.
