India announces more repatriation flights from UAE

Indian government has announced the direct more repatriation flights back home from UAE, starting from July 9. Tickets for the flights went live on Friday July, 3, from 4pm.

The Indian consulate in Dubai said Vande Bharat Mission UAE to India flights from July 8 to July 14 would open for sale on July 3 at 4pm UAE time.

The Indian consulate also said Indian nationals registered with Indian Embassy/ the CG website can book flights at normal repatriation fares at www.airindiaexpress.in or through authorized UAE travel agents.

Passport information and passenger contact details are mandatory while making bookings.   

The flights scheduled to operate at wee hours of July 9 to 14 are flying to Madurai, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Kochi and Hyderabad, and most flight will operate from Sharjah.

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi said, “Following flights will be opened for sale effective 04:00 PM UAE Time on 3rd July 2020. Make sure to book your tickets once the sale is live. #VandeBharatMission”

The embassy shared the list of cities where the flights would operate.

Union Minister for Housing and Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri said, “Phase-3 of Vande Bharat Mission has dovetailed into Phase-4. It will continue to facilitate the travel of stranded and distressed citizens.

So far more than 165,000 Indians have returned to India & more than 62,000 have flown out.

Today 4303 citizens returned from different parts of the world.”
