Tourists and visitors coming to Dubai from July 7 must complete five steps to enter the emirate. They must check if an entry visa is required or not, book a flight, have travel insurance that covers COVID-19 or bear treatment and isolation costs, apply for a PCR test in the tourist’s home country 96 hours before travel or make the test upon arrival in Dubai.
As for the details, Emirates Airlines explained that as of July 7, 2020, Dubai would be open to tourists, noting that there are no age restrictions when travelling to Dubai.
In instructions issued to tourists, the carrier said that depending on the visa requirements as per the nationality of the tourists, it is possible to obtain an entry visa upon arrival or apply for a visa before travel.
Tourists must provide travel insurance covering COVID-19 cases or bear treatment and isolation cost if any before travelling, the carrier said, noting that tourists must have an insurance policy covering COVID-19 for submission upon arrival.
The carrier added that a PCR test must be conducted 96 hours before the flight and that tourists must present a negative COVID-19 test certificate when travelling. This applies to all passengers including children, the carrier said, noting that a PCR test can also be conducted upon arrival in Dubai.
She said that the tourist who performed the PCR test upon arrival in Dubai must isolate himself in order to receive the test result and if the result is negative, he can leave the hotel and if it is positive, he must follow the instructions of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
Every passenger travelling to Dubai must fill in a health statement form and a quarantine undertaking form, the carrier said, noting that both forms must be printed, completed and handed over to DHA employees upon arrival at Dubai International Airport.Emirates announced recently that it will be offering scheduled flights for passengers from more cities in the month of July. These include Amman (from 05 July), Osaka (from 07 July), Narita (from 08 July), Athens (from 15 July), Larnaca (from 15 July) and Rome (15 July).
