Sharjah City Municipality intensifies its control over jet skiing activities in Al Mamzar area to ensure that all rental businesses adhere to the health requirements and preventive measures.
The intensified inspection goes in line with new regulations that allow rental companies to resume their activities by 50% capacity only.
The new health and precautionary measures include obligation to sterilise water bikes after each use and wear masks and gloves.
Khalid Bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Assistant Director General of the Sector for Customer Service, stressed that Al Mamzar is one of the vital areas that is witnessing a high turnout by the public, especially for the sport, water biking.
To reduce the spread of the coronavirus, the inspection teams of the Municipal urged compliance with health procedures.
Jamal Al Mazmi, head of the city cleanliness monitoring department of the municipality, explained that an office affiliated with the Municipal Control and Inspection Department has been designated at the site to monitor the progress of activities in the Al Mamzar region, considering that the place is vital and an ideal destination for many who love water sport.
The municipality will continue to tighten inspections to monitor all violations, such as failure to wear a life jacket or adhere to the specified activity area.
It has provided a number of rescuers in the jet skiing area to deal with any emergencies.
