Dubai Police have arrested two British nationals on charges of possession of narcotics.
A Dubai Police spokesperson said, “Two British nationals were arrested for the possession of narcotics with the intent to supply.
“They were taken into custody and charged with possession of cannabis, pills and other items that are classified as illegal substances in the UAE.”
The Dubai Police have referred the case to the Public Prosecution and the accused are currently out on bail.

The UAE has a zero-tolerance policy for the recreational use of drugs.
The penalty for personal possession can be up to 10 years imprisonment, and drug trafficking can result in a life sentence.
Dubai Police in February seized 1,560kg of drugs and close to 14.8 million narcotic pills in 2019.
Some 2,051 drug-related cases were uncovered last year, leading to the arrest of 3,128 suspects, the seizure of 1,560kg of illegal drugs, and 14,793,000 narcotic pills.
