The Dubai Tourism Police has recently visited 586 hotels across the emirate, as part of the force’s "Thank You" drive aimed at praising efforts of hotels' employees in implementing precautionary measures advised by the government to combat the novel coronavirus.
Launched on the 15th of June, the initiative also conveyed a message of appreciation to dedicated hospitality employees for they have been carrying out special preparations aimed at welcoming the emirate's visitors and tourists in the upcoming summer season.
Colonel Dr Mubarak Saeed Salem Bin Nawas Al Ketbi, director of Tourist Police Department at Dubai Police, said the initiative was in line with Dubai Police's keenness to maintain reliable communication channels between Dubai hotels and the force. "Dubai Police are keen on providing necessary support to this vital industry, whether in the form of security services, raising awareness or providing guidance," he said.

Col Al Ketbi headed a delegation from the Tourist Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation to 56 Dubai hotels across the emirate, where they reviewed implemented safety and precautionary measures.
The delegation also briefed hotel representatives on recommended security measures and the role of Tourism Police in securing Dubai visitors. "We also made sure that the hotels were briefed on smart services provided by Dubai Police at the SPS (Smart Police Station) and other means to reach us any time in case of emergency," Col. Al Ketbi concluded.
An earlier report said as Dubai readies itself to open its doors to visitors from around the world, the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Dubai Tourism, is focused on assuring travellers of the city’s ability to not only receive guests safely and allow for a well-rounded destination experience, but also be able to ensure that the health and wellbeing of all communities within the city remains uncompromised.
To this end, the Emirate has deployed a wide range of precautionary and preventive measures across all customer facing high-frequency touchpoints of visitor and resident interaction, including public spaces, attractions and various tourism related activities as they come on stream and restrictions get lifted gradually. Hotels across the city that are staging their reopening are mandated to adopt a stringent set of international health and safety protocols that have been enhanced further to reinforce Dubai’s reputation as one of the world’s safest destinations.
