Brigadier Abdullah Ali Menkhes, Director General of Police Operations, Ras Al Khaimah Police, said that during the past two days, social media users shared an audio recording attributed to an Asian in which he said his daughter had been kidnapped and did not return home.
Menkhes added that as soon as a report to this effect was received, a team from the Investigations and Organized Crime Department was immediately formed and began searching in all the areas of the emirate. After completing all the legal procedures, the file was referred to the Public Prosecution, he said.
Menkhes called on the public to avoid circulating and posting rumours as they cause confusion and chaos among members of the society. He demanded that they should communicate with the competent authorities before posting any material that is far from being true; otherwise, they would be held accountable.
