Within 12 hours, the Sharjah Police successfully arrested two suspects, Gulf nationals in their 20s, after they ran over a man and fled the scene.
Police received a call reporting the death of a salesman near one of Sharjah’s shops supplying smoking equipment, indicating that the victim was involved in a hit and run accident by a car parked in front of the shop.
Identity of the suspects were not known, but nevertheless, police investigations pointed out that the two suspects were buying electronic cigarettes devices, worth Dhs1000 each. They asked the victim to deliver the devices to their car and then attempted to flee the scene without paying the amount.
The victim instantly tried to clings to the vehicle to catch the suspects, but was unfortunately run over instead.
Police teams managed to identify the suspects’ plate number, which were later found to be fake.
Intensive investigations revealed the identity of the suspects, and they were arrested within 12 hours from the hit and run incident.
The two suspects were ambushed and arrested in Ajman, with the help of Ajman Police.
Sharjah Police urged parents to monitor their children and their choice of friends, by giving continuous advices to prevent such outrageous behaviors from happening again.
