Abdullah Bin Yarouf Al-Sabousi, Director of the Department of Islamic Affairs- Sharjah, said during a phone call to the “Direct Line” radio programme that is broadcast by Sharjah Radio, that Sharjah has 2,723 mosques, which have been reopened to receive worshippers.
“Since January to date, we have opened 17 mosques, and 6 mosques before it, and during this month, we are going to open 4 mosques in Hoshi area, as we have been directed by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah not only to build mosques, but to rebuild those that need to be done,” he added.
He also pointed out that there are 23 mosques in Al Rahmaniya suburb, and during this year, around 50 mosques would be opened in separate areas of the Emirate of Sharjah, including Al Nahda, Al Nasiriyah, Al Hamriyah, Hoshi, Rahmaniyah, Al Siyouh, Al Hisn and others.
“We thank His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unlimited support to us. We also thank those who joined forces with us, and without them, we would not have reached where we are now,” he added.
