Sharjah Civil Defence teams managed to bring under control a fire that broke out in a 17-storey residential tower under construction overlooking the emirate’s King Faisal Street.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
According to a reliable source, the operations room at Sharjah Civil Defence Directorate received a report to this effect at 2:09pm on Tuesday.
Civil defence vehicles from Samnan and Al Meena civil defence centres rushed to the scene of the fire where the civil defence teams started immediately to deal with the fire.
The flames were found to have come from the first parking floor. The firemen’s efforts helped prevent the fire to spread to the upper floors of the tower and to bring it under control without any casualties or injuries.
Cooling operations continued in the site in preparation for handing it over to the competent authorities for investigation into the cause of the fire.
