The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee for COVID-19 Pandemic has announced start of applying the laser-based DPI screening to enter Abu Dhabi. The service helps detect the suspicious cases of COVID-19 in seconds.
The laser-based DPI technology relies on examining blood samples to determine within seconds any presence of infections such as those caused by the COVID-19.
The diagnostic system in the innovated device approved in the UAE also adopts advanced artificial intelligence technology in image analysis according to a very accurate scale.
The Committee stressed that those wishing to enter Abu Dhabi can subject the laser-based DPI scan at checkpoints. Only those who test negative will be allowed to pass, but who tests positive, will undergo PCR and nasal swab for the detection of COVID-19 virus on the spot, before requesting to return to his/her residence and not be in contact with others until the result appears.
Meanwhile, Travelers with a negative COVID19- test (PCR) result will continue to be allowed to enter the emirate within 48 hours from receiving the result, the Committee stated.
Due to high demand for the laser-based DPI screening to enter Abu Dhabi, the committee stressed the necessity of planning and conducting checks in advance whenever possible to avoid any possible congestion or delay.
