Sharjah residents experienced a dust storm with partly cloudy skies on Tuesday afternoon.
Traffic crawled on many roads of the city, as people stayed indoors due to the unstable weather.
Residents walking along the Corniche scurried for cover as they tried to shield their faces either with their hands, scarves or umbrellas from the swirling dust.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, the weather will be “sunny to partly cloudy with a chance of some convective clouds formation by afternoon.”
The NCM issued the weather alert today, as dust storms also hit other parts of the country.

Heavy to moderate rain hit parts of Sharjah, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah according to the weather body.
“Convective clouds formation associated with rainfall and fresh winds with speed of 45 km/hr blew dust and sand with poor horizontal visibility at times over some areas of Al Ain and Al Dhafra areas,” NCM alerted.
