The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation on Friday issued a circular clarifying doubts on UAE residence visa holders’ process of returning to the Emirates.
The UAE government has permitted entry into the UAE, for which one has to have a stamped resident permit on the passport.
The Civil Aviation Ministry through its social channels said a valid ICA or General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) approval is also required if one is returning to Dubai.
The Indian ministry made the statement during a “Frequently Asked Questions” session.
Usually residents with who are outside the UAE ask questions if there are any special requirements or rules to fulfil to return to the country in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ministry said for all passengers above 12 years old, a valid Negative COVID–19 PCR test report in the printed form, from a government-approved laboratory in India (ICMR) or a certified designated laboratory for screening, is a must. The results are valid for 96 hours. Children below the age of 12 years old are exempt from the COVID–19 PCR test.
A health declaration form for Dubai, a quarantine undertaking form, is to be filled and submitted at Dubai Airport on arrival and travellers must download the COVID-19 – DXB Smart App.
Passengers with expired ICA / GDRFA status will not be attended to at check-in counters.
The passenger needs to apply afresh for entry into the UAE.
